Harris Farm Markets, an Australian grocery chain with 26 outlets across the east coast, specialises in high quality fresh foods and gourmet grocery items. Founded in 1971, the Harris family still leads the business and prides itself on being the first Australian market style fruit and vegetable retailer to open as a supermarket.
Project Design Brief
With a strong focus on regular cleaning, a durable drainage system was required to keep the floor area free from standing water. Designers wanted sloped channels to ensure efficient drainage to the outlet points. Slip resistance and heel protection were also key design requirements for the public areas.

- The stainless steel channel has a 1:100 built in fall enabling efficient drainage to outlets
- The channel and grate system was fabricated from grade 304 stainless steel, to provide adequate corrosion resistance for cleaning chemicals
- The Heelsafe® Anti-Slip grate with 6mm slots and R11 slip resistance (AS 4586) ensures public safety even after washdown operations.
