Yawa Aquatic Centre, Rosebud, VIC
Yawa Aquatic Centre in Rosebud is a modern recreational facility offering aquatic, leisure and wellness programs for people of all ages and abilities. Situated in the sporting precinct of Olympic Park, the $37M facility includes several pools, a wellness centre, a sauna, massage and physiotherapy facilities and a café.
Project Design Brief
The centre was designed with numerous walking surfaces positioned adjacent to the various wet areas. For patron safety, these floors require effective drainage without the use of large grating inlets. Aesthetically, designers wanted a discreet linear drain system that could be visually integrated with the floor design. To deal with the caustic chemicals used in the cleaning agents, there was also a requirement for these drains to be durable.
